Bahrain eVisa FAQ 2026 – Frequently Asked Questions

The Bahrain eVisa is an electronic travel authorisation issued by the Kingdom of Bahrain. It allows eligible foreign nationals to enter Bahrain for short stays – typically 14 days (single-entry) or up to 1 year with multiple entries. Applications are submitted online at evisa.gov.bh. Most international travellers need some form of entry permission to visit Bahrain. Citizens of GCC countries (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar) can enter visa-free. Many other nationalities can use the eVisa or a visa on arrival. See the eligible countries list for details.

Apply at the official Bahrain government portal: evisa.gov.bh. This is the only legitimate government website for eVisa applications. Third-party sites may charge extra fees for no additional benefit.

You need: valid passport (6+ months validity), passport-style photo, passport bio-data scan, return flight ticket, hotel booking confirmation, and a credit/debit card. See the full Bahrain eVisa requirements checklist.

Each person must submit their own separate application. You can assist family members by filling out forms on their behalf, but each application needs its own account and individual payment.

There is no minimum age requirement. Infants and children also need their own eVisa. Minors travelling without both parents may need additional documentation such as a parental consent letter.

You cannot edit an application after payment has been processed. If you discover an error, contact the evisa.gov.bh support team immediately. In some cases a correction can be made; in others you may need to reapply.

Only if you have the multiple-entry eVisa (BHD 27). The standard single-entry eVisa (BHD 5) allows only one entry. After exiting Bahrain on a single-entry visa, it becomes void.

In general, eVisa extensions are not available. You must leave Bahrain before your permitted stay expires. Overstaying may result in fines, deportation, or future entry bans. Apply for a multiple-entry visa if you need flexibility.

Yes. The Bahrain eVisa is valid for entry via Bahrain International Airport (BAH), the King Fahd Causeway land border (from Saudi Arabia), and Bahrain's seaports. Confirm the specific entry point is accepted when applying.

It is advisable to have either a printed copy or the PDF accessible on your phone. The eVisa is stored electronically against your passport, so Bahraini immigration can see it in the system, but a backup is always helpful.
